About this website
BIM-Plugins.com is a marketplace for Building Information Modeling (BIM) plugins. The platform currently supports structural steel detailing software including SDS/2.
Website owner and contact information:
www.bim-plugins.com contact@bim-plugins.comBIM Plugins acts as an intermediary between plugin vendors and users. BIM Plugins is not responsible for the availability, viewing, or downloading of plugins.
For plugin users:
This website is where users can browse, download, and purchase licenses for BIM software plugins.
How can a user buy a plugin?
To buy a plugin, a user must register and log in to this website. After navigating to a plugin's detail page, they will be able to purchase licenses for that plugin.
What is a plugin license?
A plugin license is a unique identifier that allows the assigned user to use the plugin. It is assigned to and owned by the user who purchased it. Licenses can only be purchased on this website. This license identifier is private and should only be accessible to the purchaser.
- License identifiers must not be shared with anyone else.
- BIM Plugins is not responsible for unauthorized plugin activation; the license may be revoked in this case.
What are the license types?
- Free: This license is available at no cost to the user.
- One-Time Purchase (perpetual): This license incurs a one-time fee. The user may use the plugin indefinitely.
- Subscription: This license requires a recurring payment at monthly, quarterly, or yearly intervals. Failure to pay the recurring amount will terminate the license.
- Trial: A time-limited free license that allows users to try a paid plugin before purchasing. No payment method is required. Each user may trial a given plugin once. When the trial expires, the plugin stops working and a purchase is required to continue.
The following is true about any of the above licenses:
- All licenses are associated with an individual BIM Plugins account through the Local License Server.
- A license allows activation of the specified plugin on only one computer at a time (including reactivation after reinstalling the operating system).
- After activation, the user cannot use or activate the same license on another computer.
- To transfer licenses to another computer, the user must log out of their BIM Plugins account in the Local License Server.
- An internet connection is required to check out licenses. Once checked out, plugins can be used offline for a limited period.
How to activate a plugin?
To activate a plugin, install the Local License Server, log in with your BIM Plugins account, and check out your licenses. An internet connection is required for the initial checkout. Once licenses are checked out, plugins can be used offline.
How to move a license to another computer?
Log out of the Local License Server to release your licenses from the current machine. You can then log in and check out licenses on a different computer. The ability to authorize a new computer may be subject to a cooldown period based on elapsed time since the previous activation and release history (minimum 3 months). If unavailable, please contact us and explain your situation.
What are the payment methods?
This website uses Stripe as its external payment provider. Only online payments are accepted (any valid payment method on Stripe is accepted, typically credit or debit card).
All payment information is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and handled on Stripe's servers.
If the User wants to pay by bank transfer, they should contact BIMPlugins, LLC (contact@bim-plugins.com).
What are the currencies?
All prices are in US Dollar ($).
Do the prices include taxes?
No. The prices do not include sales tax.
When does the user receive the license?
Licenses will be available after payment acceptance and confirmation (usually within a few minutes). The user can view payment status on the website.
Return policy
To exercise the right of withdrawal from a plugin purchase, the User must inform BIM Plugins of their decision within 14 days from the date of the transaction.
If the User exercises this right, the licenses of the purchased plugins will be blocked and BIM Plugins will reimburse the User without undue delay, at the latest within fourteen (14) calendar days of being notified of withdrawal by the User. The refund will be issued using the same payment method used for the original transaction. The User will not be charged any fees in connection with the refund.
The User is not entitled to withdraw from the plugin purchase if the application has been activated and the software license codes have been used.
Storage of software data
BIM Plugins does not collect or process any data, in particular data on projects and models, with the exception of:
- Data necessary for the purchase, licensing, and after-sales service of plugins and subscriptions.
- Anonymous statistical data: BIM software version, language, IP address, installation date, last run time.
- Service data sent by the user for error diagnosis.
All the above data is stored on BIM Plugins IT servers in the USA.

- The plugin is inconsistent with its description.
- The plugin is not related to BIM software in any way.
- The plugin does not meet the quality guidelines.
Plugin Discontinuation & Archival
Vendors may choose to discontinue a plugin at any time by archiving it. When a plugin is archived:
- The plugin is removed from public listings. It will no longer appear in search results or the store catalog and cannot be purchased by new users.
- Subscription users: If the vendor opts to cancel active subscriptions, each subscription will be allowed to run until the end of its current billing period and will not renew. Affected subscribers will be notified by email. No prorated refunds will be issued; users retain access through the remainder of their paid term.
- One-time purchase (perpetual) users: Access is not affected. Users with perpetual licenses retain full access to the plugin and its installers indefinitely.
- All previously published installers remain available for download by licensed users, regardless of the plugin's archived status.
- Vendors may restore an archived plugin at any time, making it available for purchase again. Previously cancelled subscriptions are not automatically reinstated; users will need to re-subscribe.
- Plugins that have never been released and have no active licenses may be permanently deleted by the vendor. Deleted plugins are permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
